new teams is not showing badge notifications. Have tried all teams/windows settings.

Same here. I've been on new teams for at least a month and all the sudden no badges last week. When I switch back to classic teams the badges return. Tried clearing cache, checking Taskbar badge settings and notification settings. Notification works fine. Only badges are gone.

According to the document, you could check your Teams notification settings and make sure they are enabled.

Check and update Teams client.

Try to uninstall and reinstall Teams.

Try clear the Teams cache from your device.

Yesterday I got an update in Teams, and since then the badges are visible.

You have Microsoft Teams version 23257.2614.2410.5635.

The client version is 49/23091420216.

I have an even newer version, and the badges still aren't showing consistently. Switching to the old teams and then back to the new fixes the problem temporarily (and I imagine updating or reinstalling does the same), but at some point they stop showing up again.

As per original error report - this standard approach to enabling badges does not work in the 'New' (c.09/2023) version of Teams.

I know this is old, but company is now switching to TEAMS 2. When I switch from Classic to TEAMS2, badge counter is working. When I stay in TEAMS 2, the next day when I sign in to TEAMS 2, the badge counter is blank. Switch back to Classic, chat badge populates, then switch to TEAMS 2, the chat badge show counts and works the rest of the day. Then I have to repeat the cycle the next day, this is getting annoying
