2023-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030219) has been failing to install on my device, I have just tried other solutions on this page for this problem however they have been unsuccessful. I would b very grateful if anyone can help me fix this as I believe it may be the reason why my surface slim pen 2 is not functioning properly.

Contact Microsoft support if no steps work they will send an update if it is a common error. We have to alert them. These steps made by the Microsoft Vender which commented are helpful in some cases not all and with especially now 23H2 Windows 11 these are problem which Microsoft needs to fix. Microsoft support team told me to wait for an update which would fix my old Windows 11 22H2 I had to update my whole OS to 23H2 which was annoying. If you want to keep your files and data do an in place upgrade upgrading to the newer version of whatever OS you are using or just do a clean install. In place upgrades are not the best I have encountered many problems with them I recommend using a third party app to backup and restore your data and apps if you are able to find one. Windows has problems with updates so if you do not want to deal with this install a different OS. So far in this year I encountered 10 Windows Update error messages and I cannot install a driver that which I need.

EDIT: you can use the Microsoft update catalog to update with errors in some cases.

    This doesn't solve anything.

    The required installation of KB5040527 ( Windows 11 Version 23H2) always crashes at 39% , error 0x80248007

Not one of the supplied "solutions" does fix this. Please create a new install for Windows 11 Version 23H2 which does install correctly.
