How can I get rid of these blue text boxes?

I accepted all track edits expecting to get a clear word document, but instead I have something with text boxes throughout the document and they are impossible to work with. How can I remove them without clearing all my formatting?

Your screen shot indicates that you are typing inside a content control.

A very simple way to get rid of all content controls, while preserving their content, is to save the document in the older *.doc format (which does not support content controls). You can then save it back to *.docx.
