Hi,
We are running Azure AD Connect on a server, the Even Viewer has a leaf node "Microsoft Azure AD/Sync Operational" in the state of 'Disabled' and there are no logs under it, can anyone explain whats the purpose of that node?

That's probably where the logging was originally located before moving everything to regular Windows Logging and the logs in the app itself.
You could enable it, but nothing will be recorded there :)

I've not changed any settings to route the logs to regular Windows Logging, logging was left to default settings, but what does it suppose to log? Directory Synchronization? or Synchronization Server Manager logs?
All the AADConnect logging already goes to the regular Windows event logs, so nothing to set there.

Open Event Viewer.
Expand Windows Logs, and then expand Application.
In the Actions pane, select Filter Current Log.
In the Event sources box, select the Directory Synchronization check box.
The operations logging is in the AADConnect Synchronization Service Manager
So you can ignore the
Microsoft Azure ADSync/ Operational logs.
