HI All,

I am a newby here and trying to setup a Sharepoint Foundation 2013 with a working search.

I have followed so many articles and done so many things, but I for the life of me cannot get my Search to actually do anything.

I have 3 accounts all of which has DB read/write access to the SQL dbs. - an admin a manager and a search

It is a single server farm that hosts.

When I try start the SharePoint Server Search I get -

The service is running on the server. And when I go to Search Service Application it is running there as well.

it is also running under the Search Application

Yet i run a full crawl and it only comes up with one searchable item. Yet my content sources are for all Local Sharepoint Sites

Once the crawl is run, I do a search on my site and I get this.

Please help, what am i doing wrong. Why is this not working. I have tried for a full week now to get this up and running. I dont know what else to do anymore. I need help. I have manually reindex the sites and made sure that the settings on the acutally sites etc is correct.

Any advise or ideas?

Thanks in advance.

seems like you are doing a continuous crawl, try running the full crawl and what did you see from crawl log ? How many errors, warning and success ones ? Make sure you have appropriate permissions for the service account which is running crawl.

Check which service account is your crawler account by doing the following:

    Central Administration
    Manage Service Applications
    Search Service Application
The crawler account should be under the "Default content access account"

Ensure that the service account is granted a full read policy on the web application in question. If not follow below steps to add it.

    Central Administration
    Mange Web Applications
    Select your web application
In the above ribbon select User policy
Ensure the Default content access account is listed with "full read"

    Thanks & Regards,

check whether Sharepoint Server Search 15 and Sharepoint Search Host Controller services running in Control panel > Administrative tools > Services. And also whether they are running under correct accounts:

    Please check as following:

    1. Make sure the account running the search service has administrator permission on Search Service Application.
    2. Check if the search related services are started and running on local server as sadomovalex suggests.
    3. Check the system Event Viewer or ULS logs during search crawls for any potential error message on this issue.

Here is another post you can refer to, see if it helps in any way: Sharepoint Foundation 2013 Search Service.
