issue with brace matching

Hi,

Brace matching in Visual Studio 2019 is not working for me. I tried changing colors from Tools -> Options -> Fonts and Colors -> Brace Matching(Highlight/Rectangle) but still it does not highlight the matching braces like notepad++ does. Can someone please help me on this.

Do I need to tell VS somewhere which type of file I am using, like we do in Notepad++ by changing language.

Hi Gopal Dubey,

What’s your project type? Have you tried to create a new project to check if the situation occurs in specific project? Please note that you should place the cursor at the left of the brace.

In addition, please check if you set the following item as Default: Tools > Options > Environment > Fonts and Colors > Punctuations.

I do not see punctuation option there in VS2019 and yes I tried placing cursor left, right everywhere, but no luck.

Hi Gopal Dubey, please update your VS2019 to the latest version and refer to the link: Environment settings for Visual Studio to reset your VS settings.(Choose General Collection of Settings)
