A colleague of me has created an Azure AI services resources. He has the Owner role assiged, so am I. When we compare the RBAC roles, we have the same roles.

But in practice, he can add deployments and content filter, I cannot.

What could be the cause of this?

    H Paul D'hertoghe,

I understand that you're encountering an issue with be some differences in the specific permissions assigned to your roles, even though both of you have the Owner role. Here are a few potential causes for the issue you're experiencing:

    • Ensure both roles are assigned at the same level (subscription, resource group, or resource). A broader scope for your colleague could grant additional permissions.
    • Check if your colleague has any additional roles (like Azure AI Inference Deployment Operator) that may provide extra capabilities beyond the Owner role.
    • Your colleague might have inherited permissions from parent resources that you do not have access to.
    • Review any Azure Policies that may restrict your actions despite having the Owner role.
    • Sometimes, logging out and back in or clearing your browser cache can resolve temporary UI issues. Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
