Changing disk not showing properly

Hello everyone,

I needed to change a disk type of a replicated VMware machine in Site Recovery. I followed the procedure listed here, but when i check the disk type on the replicated test machine (test failover) from the site recovery virtual machine blade I still find it as the old configuration.

The thing is, when i check directly on the disk i can see that the type is different from what is shown in the Site Recovery Panel

My question is: when I start the Failover procedure what type of disk will be attached to the Azure VM? I assume it will be a Premium SSD tier P10 in this case, am I correct?

During the failover test i checked the disk and it doesn't seem to be attached to any virtual machine.

    Hi @Alessio Magnea ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, thank you for posting your query here!

During a failover in Azure Site Recovery (ASR), you have the option to choose the disk type for the new VM in the target region. You can select either Premium SSD, Standard SSD, or Standard HDD based on performance and cost requirements.

    • If you choose Premium SSD, the failover VM will be created with Premium SSD disks.
    • If you select Standard SSD or Standard HDD, the failover VM will use that disk type.

This selection ensures that the replicated VM aligns with your desired storage performance, and the chosen disk type will be applied automatically when the failover completes.
