I had a problem with my phone, and I accidentally deleted the authenticator app.

Hello,
i am usuing authenticator app *******@outlook.com
Today, I had a problem with my phone, and I accidentally deleted the authenticator app. I used my email to synchronize the list of auth codes, but when I installed the app and signed in again. I did not get the list of codes.
I list all of them.

I understand that you accidentally deleted your authenticator app, and you tried to sync it with your email to retrieve the authenticator codes. You also reinstalled the app and signed in again, but you didn’t receive the list of codes.
Cloud Backup must have been enabled on your previous device (via iCloud for iOS or Google Drive for Android).You must sign in using the same Microsoft account that was used for the backup. Unfortunately, Microsoft does not store your Authenticator data unless cloud backup was activated.
If the codes are not syncing and you do not have recovery codes, you may need to manually reset the two-factor authentication (2FA) for each service you use. This can involve verifying your identity through email, phone, or other methods. This process will remove all existing authentication methods, and upon re-registering, you will be prompted to set up new ones. Please note that notifications will not be sent to the previous method, as it will no longer be recognized.

Chris 0 Reputation points2025-02-21T15:39:20.85+00:00 I have the same problem. Can't access my work account on teams since I had to delet ms authenticator and reinstall it. Can't login and no other method was ever set by me (bad service of MS not to warn users to do so. Should be a standard to set a second recovery option.)
I can reset my password but still needs the authenticator to work...which asks me to use the authenticator to set up the authenticator.
Loop of death. Support is missing in action too.
So basically I have to cancel my account.
PS: Not talking about this account.
