My Recovery Services vault backup items have disappeared

Hi,

I have a lot of historic snapshots in my protected items, but since the registration of a new MABS server of the same name - all my historic snapshots have disappeared.

They're not showing as deleted when filtered but show when I select the management server drill into the protected items, but they're showing as zero bytes..

Please help..

It's like you are having trouble with old snapshots disappearing after registering a new Microsoft Azure Backup Server (MABS) with the same name. If your historic snapshots are not showing or are showing as zero bytes.
Please follow below steps and fix the issue:

Check serve setup the new MABS is set up correctly and configured to manage and keep old snapshots.

Check the retention policies for your protected items and ensure they are set to keep old snapshots for as long as needed.

Check the enough space on the server to store old snapshots. If the storage is full, it could affect the snapshots.

Check the logs or event viewer on the server for any error messages about snapshot storage or retention issues.

Even if the historic snapshots are not showing, you might still be able to restore data from recovery points.

Hi, this isn't on-premises. it's in the Azure Vault itself.

when I select the server..

There are snapshots but it's showing 0 bytes..

this was showing as 40Gb until last week
