Is there a remote support available for DPM

Question

Hello All,

Do I get remote support for DPM? we have a backup issue from SQL DB backup. Actually, Backup server taking backup of its own DB (SQL Agent backup). below is the error . this error occurs on all instances.

The replica of Instance\model on xxxxxxxx.xxxxxx.net is inconsistent with the protected data source. All protection activities for this data source will fail until the replica is synchronized with consistency check.

Protection agent on xxxxxxxx.xxxxxx.net was unexpectedly shut down during synchronization. DPM may have replicated data partially for Instance\model.

Thank you for sharing the error message. Mostly this error message is caused due to shadow copy or USN Journal issue. Request you to please follow below mentioned steps:

• Request you to set the shadow copy limit to no limit on the volume where the SQL database <Servername>\MSDPMINSTANCE\model resides.
• Check the USN journal size using the command "fsutil usn queryjournal C:"
• Use the table below to find if the appropriate values for Maximum Size and Allocation Delta is set for the drive.

Please change the USN journal size if required following the below command as an example:
