Error Generating Catalog File in WSIM

I just ran into an error while using WSIM to build/generate the Catalog File.
I believe it is due to the OSBuild of my target machine and the OSBuild of the source install.wim being different.

I am using ADK for Windows 10, version 1903 which says "You can use this version to deploy Windows 10, version 1909 as well."
I am using version 10.0.18362.1 of the Windows ADK as the error log states.
I am sure that since my builds are different that's why I am getting the error. Can anyone confirm?

Would be best to create ISO from Windows Media Create Tool for Build 2004, fresh install on target machine & extract Build 2004 install.wim and try loading/generate the Catalog File again.

I appreciate your help!

Thank you!

The OS version doesn't have to match. 1903 has had some issues so installing the update as JennyFeng pointed out is something to do. You can also go back and install an older version of the ADK like 1809 and the catalog creation will work just fine.

Also note: a 64-bit catalog can only be created in 64-bit Windows OS.

    Hi,

Please refer to the Windows System Image Manager known issue:
When using Window System Image Manager (SIM), you might encounter errors if the ADK is installed on a device running a 64-bit version of Windows. To create unattended Windows Setup answer files on a 64-bit version of Windows, download the WSIM 1903 update, and follow the included installation instructions.

The answer may be as simple as this:

    1. START WITH A CLEAN SLATE - Try clearing the folder where the WIM file is generated by DELETING anything inside the folder. You'll find that the CATALOG file will be generated.
    2. If you don't think that's the answer, try generating the CATALOG file in a new folder and you'll get success and realise step 1 is what's required.

    Regards
    Walter
