Hi, i have been pushing 1909 in place upgrades to about a thousand machines and realized that it gets half way through the upgrade and then rolls back. i ran setupdiag and i am seeing this.

"Recommend you move or delete the object specified "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\EDPA []" and try the update again."

I know this is Symantec DLP but the version we are running (15.5 mp1 hotfix 107) is supported on 1909 so not sure if anyone else has seen this.

What's weird is that i can push a second time and it almost always works the second time...

i have attached the full setupdiag log incase it's helpful. 10658-setupdiagresults.txt

    Hi,

Error code "5" means access denied, even though you are running a supported version of Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP) it does not mean that it might not interfere with your Windows 10 upgrades, as it has already done so in the past.

It could be that the Symantec DLP may be locking the registry during the first attempt, in your case I would be in touch with Symantec to see if they are aware of this issue for upgrading Windows 10, version 1809 -> 1909.

Otherwise you could simply perform the resolution that was provided in the KB article for upgrading from Windows 10, 1709 -> 1809:

    Best regards,
