If you are not an administrator and want to make yourself one:
Open Control Panel: Search for "Control Panel" in the Start menu and open it.
User Accounts: Click on "User Accounts" and then "User Accounts" again.
Manage Another Account: Select "Manage another account."
Select Your Account: Choose the account you want to change.
Change the Account Type: Click on "Change the account type" and select "Administrator."
Verifying BitLocker Status
Open Control Panel: Search for "Control Panel" in the Start menu and open it.
System and Security: Click on "System and Security."
BitLocker Drive Encryption: Select "BitLocker Drive Encryption." Here, you can see if BitLocker is turned on for your drives.
Turn Off BitLocker: Click on "Turn off BitLocker" for the drive you want to decrypt. Follow the prompts to complete the process.
