Capture d’écran 2025-03-03 204105.jpgHi,

when trying to access the Microsoft sandbox in browser from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/describe-core-architectural-components-of-azure/4-exercise-explore-learn-sandbox?tryIt=true&source=learn, I'm having the following error, but in left it is saying that sandbox is activated. (I attached the error I'm having)

error message : Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '18fbca16-2224-45f6-85b0-f7bf2b39b3f3' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

my account email is ******@gmail.com

I'm using it to login to azure portal.

I have also noticed that I can use the sandbox services directly on azure portal,

can you please check ?

thank you in advance.

Muriel

    Hi Muriel,

This is a known issue with the sandbox. Please give my workaround below a try and let me know if you have any issues.

You should be able to work around the issue by first Activating the sandbox (solving puzzles, reviewing permissions, etc.) and then once you see the sign-in box appear on the right open a new browser tab. In this new tab, browse to https://shell.azure.com. If your existing sandbox hasn't expired you can use that instead of activating a new one.

When prompted, click Bash (The exercise uses PowerShell and Bash. You can switch between them using button at top of cloud shell window)

    User's image

Next choose No storage account required, for Subscription select Concierge Subscription, and click Apply.

    User's image

After several seconds delay while a cloud shell is requested and connected to, you should see $ prompt. At this point you can complete the exercises instructions, copy/paste code from exercise tab to cloud shell tab as needed, etc.

Please click Accept Answer and upvote if the above was helpful.

    Thanks.

I had a similar issue to this.

I've got a personal Azure tenant linked to the same email address I'm using for Microsoft learn and the sandbox.

To get this to work I had to log into the tenant and then switch the directory to the sandbox environment.

To do this log into the Azure portal, select the cog icon in the top right and then select the Microsoft Learn Sandbox Directory and select Switch. Then it all started to work as expected.
