User Sync Failing to Apple Business Manager

Problem Summary:

  • A user whose UPN changed due to a typo during onboarding in Microsoft is not synching with Apple Business Manager.
  • The user now has the correct UPN in Microsoft, but the old, incorrect, UPN is still in ABM. This is preventing the user from signing into their Apple account because the account is not found.
  • New users are being provisioned correctly, so provisioning is working for new users; only existing users with updates to their UPN is failing.
  • How do I resolve this issue?

More Details:

I had a user whose name contained a typo in their original onboarding form, so their UPN was initially incorrect. I fixed the typo in Entra and now their UPN is correct in Microsoft. We have Federation configured for ABM to sync their Entra account. In ABM, the incorrect UPN is still showing. It has not created a new user account in ABM either. So, I have the updated, correct, UPN in Microsoft, but the old incorrect username is still showing in ABM.

New users are being created in ABM, so I know provisioning is working.

In the provisioning log details for the user with the name change I see an error message for "Provision user in AppleBusinesssManager".
