I can´t verify my identity without Microsoft Authenticator even though this option is disabled.

Hello. I've been having problems with Microsoft Authenticator. I'm trying to log in one of my accounts, but my Authenticator doesn't show nor receives notifications.

I searched online for this problem, but found nothing that solved my problem. My app was updated and so was my mobile device.

I tried to follow the standard instructions provided by support, but they didn't work, so I deleted the Microsoft Authenticator app and also deactivated the two-step identity validation. I then disabled the validation by Authenticator app, lefting only the password, e-mail and SMS options. Then I tried to log in my other account, but the system asked to use the Authenticator app again, even though this option was disabled, as was the two-step validation. I found this very confusing.

I also tried to register my mobile device (when I still hadn't deleted the Authenticator app) on the Authenticator app, but the app requested to validate a code on Authenticator app, like, the app requested a validation on the app.

Also, when I select the option that says that I CAN'T use the app now, the only option I have is to receive a code and inform this code, but the code is send to the Authenticator app, but it doesn't receives notifications, even though I have allowed the app to receive them.

Could you help me, please?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Could you clarify if both accounts are personal or work accounts?

Work accounts are controlled by company policies and may require assistance from your organization's IT administrator.

You might also try a solution that has worked for others, as discussed in this thread The Authenticator app is requesting a code from the app itself - Microsoft Q&A

If that approach does not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to online support directly using the methods suggested in this post Hacked Microsoft account with altered recovery email. - Microsoft Community

    I hope this information helps.

    Best regards,

    Karlie Weng
