Privacy Error: Your Connection is not Private

I'm getting this error message when I try to go to large major websites such as the government or Wikipedia, and more and more often. It says: "it's security certificate is not trusted by your device's operating system. This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection."

I tried deleting my phone's cache and restarting the phone, and it did not correct the error. This is causing me more and more hassle. How can I fix it short of buying a new phone? My phone is 5 years old, and works beautifully except for this, and a few apps I can't use. It is an Android phone.

I have no idea why you posted here. Your issue has nothing to do with any Microsoft or Windows Server product.

I have come across this issue before. Your issue is related to your outdated Android OS and its outdated certificates. You will need to obtain an updated Android OS from your device provider. If no updates exist, a possible workaround may be to install a third-party web browser (like Firefox) that maintains its certificates separate from the OS.

Thank you. I thought because the phone uses Windows, I could ask at Windows. I phoned Asus, my phone maker, they said I should ask Microsoft, and also that no I cannot have an updated OS. However, Firefox works, so thank you very much!
