How do I downgrade my Windows server 2022 STD (24core) SCC license to 2019 STD

Hello,

I’m currently managing a host server running Windows Server 2022 with four virtual machines (VMs). The host machine is using an OEM Windows Server 2022 Standard license, which is shared with two of the four VMs. I also have a Windows Server 2022 Standard SCC license applied to one of the remaining two VMs.

The last VM is running Windows Server 2019, and based on what I’ve read, I should be able to use my downgrade rights to obtain a product key for the 2022 SCC license, allowing me to use it for the 2019 VM. However, I’ve encountered a major challenge: getting in touch with the right support at Microsoft.

I’ve contacted Microsoft support four to five times, and each time, I’ve been transferred between departments for over an hour and a half. Just when I think I’ve reached the right department to request a downgraded product key, they hang up on me, which has been extremely frustrating.

I’m reaching out for any advice on how I can resolve this situation without needing to purchase a new 2019 Standard Server license. Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
