Hello ana belen cabrera hernandez,
thank you for posting on the Microsoft Community Forums.
Here are some steps you can take to try to revert back to the previous state of your computer or recover some of your lost files:
- Check for Previous Windows Installation (Windows.old folder):
- If your update was recent, Windows might have saved a backup of your previous installation in a folder called
Windows.old
. - You can find this folder in the root directory of your system drive (usually C:).
- Navigate to
C:\Windows.old\Users\
to find your previous user data, including your downloads, documents, and settings.
- If your update was recent, Windows might have saved a backup of your previous installation in a folder called
- Use System Restore:
- If System Restore was enabled before the update, you might be able to revert your system to a previous state.
- To use System Restore:
- Open the Start menu and type "System Restore" to find and open “Create a restore point.”
- In the System Properties window, click the "System Restore" button.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to choose a restore point prior to the update and restore your system to that state.
- File History/Backup:
- If you had File History or another backup solution enabled, you may be able to recover your files from there.
- Open the Start menu and type "File History" to access the File History settings.
- If File History is enabled, you can browse through and restore previous versions of your files.
- It’s worth checking the Recycle Bin to see if any of your lost files were accidentally deleted and can be recovered from there.
Hope it helps.
Best regards,
Lei
