Outlook keeps asking for my password. It won't accept my password and I've tried changing my password but still won't work. Outlook opens but hasn't updated since August 2024. Cleared Credentials cache but still doesn't work

    Hi @Bernie McCaffrey

    Welcome to our forum!

To further confirm if the issue is more related to Outlook desktop client, if possible, please log in to your web mail and do the same test to check if the issue persists. If you can successfully log in the web mail app, then this issue is related to the Outlook client.

What is the version of your Outlook? It is recommended that you please check the Outlook client version (File>Office Account>Product Information) and try to upgrade to the latest version to see if the problem is resolved.

In addition, here are some other steps you may want to take:

    1. Use Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA):
      • SaRA can help troubleshoot and fix normal issues with Outlook, you can download SaRA from the Microsoft Download Centerand then run it as directed.
    2. Clear the password caches:
      • Exit Outlook>Control Panel>User Accounts>Credential Manager>Windows Credentials>Select all credentials for Microsoft, Outlook or Lync and choose Remove from Vault>Exit and restart your computer.
    3. Repair Outlook:
      • Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features>Select Microsoft Office>Change>Choose Quick Repair or Online Repair
    4. Create a New Profile:
      • If all above do not help, it is proposed that you create a new profile, re-add your account to the new profile and check if the same issue still occurs.

    Hope it helps!
