I've installed OpenSSH Server on an Azure Windows 2019 VM and attempted to apply the temporary fix for the October 2024 update issue by updating ACLs on the affected directories. However, since I haven't started the service yet, there are no files or folders in the SSH folder. Even after applying the ACLs to the SSH folder, I'm still unable to start the SSH service.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Based on the information you provided, I suggest you try the following steps to see if the problem can be solved:

On the Computer Management, select Computer Management > Services and Applications > Services, on the properties of the following services, change the Startup type to Automatic.

    • OpenSSH SSH Server
    • OpenSSH Authentication Agent
