Hi @eda atay
I understand your frustration with not being able to use the Office for Mac properly you paid for. As a consumer, it's completely reasonable to feel this way.
Microsoft requires Office for Mac to be installed on the latest three macOS versions for several reasons:
- Closed Ecosystem: Apple's ecosystem is tightly integrated, with hardware and software working closely together. This means macOS doesn't support hardware as extensively as Windows does.
- Hardware Limitations: Older Mac machine may not be able to install the latest version of macOS because the hardware requirements.
- Support Policy: Apple supports the current operating system and the two previous ones. For example, Apple ended support for macOS 12 Monterey in 2024, and this version will no longer receive security updates in 2025.
To ensure the best experience with Office for Mac, Microsoft needs to guarantee the security, performance, and compatibility of Office with modern hardware and macOS, Microsoft keeps up with Apple's strategy for MacOS on Office for mac.
