OpenAI 4o-realtime model latest version availability

Question

Hi,

I see that on the openai website the version of the 4o-realtime model is gpt-4o-realtime-preview-2024-12-17

from https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/realtime

As I understand this version has more number of voices and is also much better at function calling. My question is when would this version be available for use through the Azure OpenAI platform? As I can see the version currently available on Azure is 2024-10-01-preview

I'm glad to share that the GPT-4o-Realtime-Preview-2024-12-17 model has been recently updated and is now available for use in the East US 2 and Sweden Central regions.

Going forward, Microsoft plans to expand the availability of this model to additional regions. Please keep an eye on the Azure OpenAI Service release notes for updates on What's new in Azure OpenAI Service and Azure OpenAI Service models page will be updated accordingly with more details on regional support.
You can try using this latest version in your code. If you encounter any issues, please feel free to let us know.
