How to change a setting using gpedit and not being forced in "Some settings are ....."

The problem with using gpedit.msc is that after you change a setting you now get the annoying message in "Settings" that says, "Some of these settings are managed by your organization". And there does not seem to be a way to change this.

A good example is "turning off the Screen Lock. Once you have used the setting in gpedit to stop the screen lock, you now get that message in settings, which means that when it is "On", you can no longer change the background picture on the Login Screen.

There is a dialogue under "System Properties called Network ID, which supposedly allows you to set "This is a home computer; it's not part of a business network". But this dialogue will not allow that setting to be active. You select it, shut the dialogue, reopen it, and it's back to the Business network setting. (Even after a reboot).

So, how do I fix this PC always to be set as a home computer and not have the software keep changing it to a business machine that it's not and will always be a home machine?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Here are some steps that we can follow to take the control back instead of managed by the organization:

1.Press "Win+R", put in "gpedit.msc" and press Enter to open GPO editor.

2.Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update.

3.Set "Configure Automatic Updates" to Not Configured and restart the PC to apply the setting change.

    Best Regards

The settings under "Configure Automatic Updates" never changed. I toggled them to allowed and back again and rebooted the PC after each change.. No difference was seen.
