2025-01-02T06:14:45.8+00:00 Greetings & Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum! Thanks for posting your query!
Yes, you can view Azure Files from a smartphone using the Azure mobile app, which is available for both Android and iPhone. Here are the general steps for viewing Azure Files on Android and iPhone:
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/products/app-service/mobile
The Azure mobile app supports iOS 11.0 and later and Android 6.0 and later.
For Android:
Download the Azure App:
- Go to the Google Play Store.
- Search for "Microsoft Azure" and download the official Azure app.
Sign In: Open the Azure app and sign in with your Azure account credentials.
Navigate to Storage Accounts: Find and select the "Storage accounts" section within the app.
Select Your Storage Account: Choose the specific Azure Storage Account that contains your Azure Files.
Access Azure Files: Once in the Storage Account, look for the section related to Azure Files. Here, you should be able to view, navigate, and manage your files.
For iPhone:
Download the Azure App: Go to the App Store on your iPhone.
- Go to the App Store on your iPhone.
- Access Azure Files: Once in the Storage Account, look for the section related to Azure Files. Here, you should be able to view, navigate, and manage your files.
Regarding your question about viewing the Azure portal from a site other than the web site, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. The Azure portal is a web-based management console, so it can only be accessed through a web browser.

2025-01-02T08:42:02.05+00:00 I suggest few additional steps you can try to access your Azure File Shares on your iPhone:
Check Permissions: Ensure that your Azure account has the necessary permissions to access the file shares within the storage account. You might need to be assigned a role like "Storage File Data SMB Share Contributor."
Use the Correct Path: When navigating within the storage account, make sure you're looking under the "File shares" section. Sometimes, it can be easy to miss if you're not in the right subsection.
SMB Connection: If the Azure mobile app isn't showing the file shares, you can try connecting via SMB.
Open the Files app on your iPhone.
Tap on the Browse tab at the bottom.
Tap on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Connect to Server.
Enter the SMB URL for your Azure File Share. It should look something like
smb://<storage_account_name>.file.core.windows.net/<file_share_name>
.
*Enter your Azure storage account credentials when prompted.Check Network Settings: Ensure your iPhone is connected to a network that allows SMB traffic. Some networks might block certain ports required for SMB connections.
Azure Portal: Double-check the Azure portal to ensure the file share is correctly set up and accessible. Sometimes, reconfiguring the file share settings can help.
If you have any other questions or are still running into more issues, let me know in the "comments" and I would be happy to help you.

2025-01-06T15:45:11.2466667+00:00 Few additional steps you can try to resolve the "Content Unavailable" error:
Check Network Configuration: Ensure that your network settings allow SMB traffic. Sometimes, network configurations or firewalls can block the necessary ports for SMB connections.
Verify Secure Transfer Settings: Make sure that the "Secure transfer required" setting is disabled on your storage account if your client does not support SMB encryption, you can check this setting in the Azure portal under the "Configuration" section of your storage account.
Review Firewall and Virtual Network Rules: Ensure that your storage account's firewall and virtual network settings allow access from your current network. You might need to temporarily allow access from all networks to test if this resolves the issue.
Check Storage Quota: Verify that the storage quota for your Azure file share has not been exceeded. If the quota is reached, it can prevent access to the file share.
Update Third-Party App: If you're using a third-party app like File Browser or FE File Explorer, ensure that the app is up to date. Sometimes, updates can fix bugs or improve compatibility with Azure file shares.
Re-authenticate: Try re-authenticating your connection in the third-party app. Sometimes, re-entering your credentials can resolve access issues.

2025-01-15T17:58:08.8266667+00:00 Issue might be related to how permissions are being handled on your iOS device. I Suggest few steps you can try to resolve this, even though you are set permissions to open for all, ensure that the specific folder you are trying to access has the correct permissions. Sometimes, subfolders might have different permissions than the parent folder.
Since you're using the storage account key, make sure you're entering it correctly. Double-check for any typos or errors in the key. ensure that the SMB version being used by your iOS device is compatible with Azure File Shares. Azure File Shares support SMB 3.0 and above.
If possible, try using a different authentication method, such as Azure AD credentials, to see if that resolves the issue. Make sure that your iOS device and the Azure app are up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues.
If possible, try using a different SMB client on your iPhone to see if the issue persists. Apps like FileBrowser or FE File Explorer might handle the connection differently Try clearing the cache and data for the Azure app on your iOS device. This can sometimes resolve unexpected errors.
Hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any further queries.

2025-01-17T01:27:00.9+00:00 Hi @Keshavulu Dasari ,
I will catch time do the testing for using other app, by the way regarding the authentication method is using AD credential in our network.
I do have testing the scenario with laptop for below.
Scenario 1: In office network with domain pc using my AD account is able to view the Azure file content.
Scenario 2: Because target is using iPhone at outside office device to view the file so I testing using non domain PC with VPN but when key in AD credential always want me re-enter credential without showing error message.
So why I testing using storage account key because can passing the credentials when VPN back office to make sure the services between two networks don't have issue.
I'm do troubleshoot quite long time still not able solve the AD authentication, can help give me same advice for this.

2025-01-17T18:37:12.7333333+00:00 Few additional steps you can try the Issue involving AD authentication over VPN on non-domain devices,
Ensure that your VPN is correctly configured to allow access to your domain controllers. Verify that DNS settings are correct and that your device can resolve the domain controller's FQDN
Check if there are any issues with Kerberos authentication. Ensure that the time on your non-domain PC is synchronized with the domain controller, as Kerberos is sensitive to time discrepancies
Sometimes, non-domain PCs might have issues with credential caching. Try clearing any cached credentials on your non-domain PC and then attempt to reconnect, verify that there are no Group Policy settings blocking NTLM authentication, as this can cause repeated credential prompts.
Ensure that LDAP bindings are correctly configured and that there are no issues with LDAP connections. You can use tools like LDP or ADSI Edit to test LDAP connections
Check the Event Viewer on both the non-domain PC and the domain controller for any error messages related to authentication. This can provide more insight into what might be going wrong
As mentioned earlier, using third-party apps like File Browser or FE File Explorer might offer better compatibility with Azure File Shares and could bypass some of the issues you're facing
If you're using Azure AD Pass-Through Authentication, ensure that the agents are properly configured and that there are no connectivity issues between the agents and your domain controllers
