Having issue with primary monitor in Windows App rdp. Desktop settings Identify shows my monitors as 1-2 -3. Settings in Windows App shows 1-3-2 . I use the option to select monitors in app so that RDP session uses the right two monitors. Key issue is that primary monitor in RDP is set to monitor 2 but this puts taskbar and notifications on right screen. I need notifications to show on left. Originally my local sys had 1-3-2 and I hoped switching cable connection would change things but regardless of how local cables connected, Window App continues to show 1-3-2. Is there a local config file that I can remove to force a reconfig on this?

    Hello,

You can change rdp files if you want to specify your monitor.

    There is an official link:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/rdp-files

Take care of 'selectedmonitors' and 'use multimon' parameters.

About how to change your file:

    1. Open mstsc , and fill in your imformation, then save as.
    2. Open your saved file with notepad and change parameters in it by following the document.
    3. Open the rdp file you have configured in step 2.

    found fix at https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/137225-clear-reset-external-display-cache-windows-10-a.html

before manually applying fix, I had renamed Default.rdp (hidden in Documents) per suggestion from other forums
