Hi,
When are we expected to be able to update Debian 12 virtual machines via the Azure Update Manager. Currently these vm's are shown as "UnSupported".

I just realized Debian 12 isnt listed as being supported, this is really odd. Its not like its a new release, it was published over a year ago. Doesnt make any sense its not yet supported.
Any news regarding this?

I too would like an update on this. We have some Debian 12 VMs that are currently unsupported. A Microsoft representative told me back in september that Debian 12 support was supposed to be rolled out soon, but nothing has happened yet. Please provide an ETA for this. Debian 12 has been out for over a year and there is Debian 12 images available in the Azure Marketplace, yet no update support?

HI Joakim Saras, there is no ETA at this time to add Debian 12. I am sorry for this inconvenience.
No ETA? How is that even possible? Surely the underlying procedure can't differ that much between Debian 11 (which is supported) and Debian 12 (which, for some vague reason, is not supported)?
@Karel Delmoitie adding other profiles was put on pause to address other priorities. I would imagine this process will pick back up and other versions will be added. There just isn't a published timeline currently.
One option you might try to get around this issue would be to create an image and put it in the custom image gallery of Debian 12. When you create custom images, Azure Update Manager has been patching these in my experience. For example, when SUSE 12.5 wasn't natively supported, a custom image of SUSE 12.5 was.
Please let me know if this is a suitable option.
Not really suitable for the time being, we will wait for the native support instead.
I talked to the product team and there is no current ETA to support Debian 12 at this time. Sorry for this inconvenience.
