Teams Webinar paid registrations, does Teams webinars handle paid registrations? If not, will it be on the roadmap?

As of today, Microsoft Teams webinars do not natively support paid registrations. Users can register for webinars including free events but handling specific paid registrations isn't built-in directly within Teams.

The Microsoft 365 Roadmap provides updates on upcoming features and enhancements. Regularly monitoring the roadmap allows you to stay updated about potential upcoming features.

As of now, Microsoft Teams Webinar doesn’t offer native support for paid registrations. The built‐in webinar registration process is designed for free signups, meaning it doesn’t integrate payment collection or ticketing features directly.

That said, many event organizers work around this limitation by using third‐party registration and payment systems (such as event management platforms) that can handle the paid registration component and then use Microsoft Teams for delivering the webinar itself. For the most seamless experience, you might set up an external registration page that collects payments and then automates the distribution of the webinar link or calendar invitation.

Regarding whether native paid registration functionality is on Microsoft’s roadmap, there hasn’t been an official announcement confirming its inclusion. Microsoft regularly updates Teams based on customer feedback and market demand, so this could change in the future.
