IP address assignment needs to change from Dynamic to static

Need to change the IP address assignment from Dynamic to static, but the option disabled because it is associated with virtual network gateway. In the virtual network gateway i can't see any option to dissociate that IP address and associate another one.

I need this IP because , the IP is whitelisted in the client side, and requesting the client to whitelist new IP will take more days which is in a way a down time for us. Please help us how can i dissociate the IP from the virtual network gateway. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reverting.

We're taking action to ensure the continued operation of deployed VPN gateways that use Basic SKU public IP addresses until the retirement of Basic IP in September 2025. Before this retirement, we'll provide customers with a migration path from Basic to Standard IP.

Regarding above point. Do we get the migration path to convert from Basic to Standard without changing the IP..? Please clarify.

Looks like this feedback form is for something else. (Allow removal of weak cipher suites). Can you please provide the correct link so that i can upvote. Or am i missing something.

Azure VPN Gateway doesn't support changing the public IP address after creation. and there is no direct way to change the IP assignment to static for a VPN gateway.

Additional information

Because Basic SKU public IP addresses are announced to retire September 30, 2025, we're no longer permitting new gateways to be created using Basic SKU public IP addresses. It is recommended that you upgrade to higher SKUs.
