please allow Accessing Windows Mixed Reality Hardware for Open-Source Driver Development.
I've heard that the hardware for windows mixed reality (headsets like the hp reverb g2) aren't accessible through means other than windows mixed reality, it seems as well that recent updates have caused the software to lose functionality searching for an update that doesn't exist, I also don't know where to get software for previous versions as I don't have access to them, assuming that the software won't be adjusted such that it'll work without future support is it at least possible for there to be a way to gain access to the hardware such that an open source driver could be developed to run the obsolete hardware. Windows mixed reality is a piece of history, not dissimilar to old consoles, and the preservation of that history also includes its functionality, how could one observe the progression of VR technology in the future directly if key hardware that pushed the market forward is entirely inaccessible for usage. I get that VR is more complex than the console of old but making it usable for the future doesn't have to be some million dollar problem to solve, it could be as simple as opening up access to the hardware such that the thousands of passionate windows mixed reality enthusiasts have the ability to work on functionality themselves.
