Do we need to upgrade from basic SKU public IP to Standard?

Do we need to upgrade from basic public IP SKU before 9/2025 or will our basic public IP SKU continue to work past the retirement date? The notice isn't very clear as to what will happen to existing basic public IP SKU, we just see that we won't be able to create any new basic public IP SKU's moving forward.

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A,

    The Basic SKU Public IP will not work after the retirement date of 9/30/2025. So, it's essential to upgrade your existing basic SKU public IP to a standard SKU before September 30, 2025.

    1. March 31, 2025: Last day to create new Basic SKU Public IP addresses. After this date, creation of new Basic SKU Public IPs will be disabled.
    2. September 30, 2025: Retirement date for Basic SKU Public IP addresses. After this date, existing Basic SKU Public IPs will cease to operate.
