How to fix changing printing area in Microsoft Excel?

Hello everybody,

i currently face the issue that my setting of the printing area changes after some time without changes on the document or the printer settings.

I created a excel document as template where i did set up a range for a Din A4 page so the printer area exactly matches exactly a Din A4 page (scaling in excel page layout is 100%).

After some time (often over night) without changes on the document or the printer settings when I open the file again the printing area is not anymore one page but some rows are moving to a second page. It looks as if the row heights have changed.

What I also recognized is that when I enter the row height excel is taking over always a higher row height (e.g. I enter 12.5 -> Excel stores 12.6).

This behaviour is independant from the computer or an excel version (tested on several computers an with excel 2024 and 2021 pro versions).

Is this a shared file? Can others open it with machines of different screen resolutions?

It is recommended that you change the font, font size in template, and change the Default Printer in Windows for a test.

I also suggest you set the Screen Scaling to 100% to check this issue.
