Can't delete/edit guest email users in exchange.

Question

guest email users in exchange are not able to be updated from exchange. We need to update in azure but the users do not exist in azure. Certain users from the domain have their email listed as their display name. We cannot email those users. We can email users with normal display names. I created a ticket and spoke with Microsoft exchange support. They saw the issue and advised me to contact azure support. It looks like the change needs to be made by Microsoft. I have a list of users if needed. This is causing our business significant down time.
