Why is my Authority string literal getting mangled with duplication during AD B2C authentication?

My Authority string literal is getting internal duplication causing a IDX20803 failure. I have used the URL string in the browser and successfully retrieved claims. I set that string in my Blazor web server application using Microsoft.Identity.Web/Microsoft.Identity.Client latest versions. I am blocked and cannot move forward because I can't get a user authenticated. This is really bad. The string should not be touched!
