    Hello,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community forum.

You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Make sure your VPN is configured correctly and allows RDP traffic. You can use the ping command to test the connectivity between the local client and the remote server.
    2. When you use a Microsoft account to log in to a remote desktop, the format is “MicrosoftAccount\ account email”. If you are connecting to a DOMAIN remotely through a VPN, try using a Username format such as "DOMAIN\username" or "******@domain.com".
    3. Check whether NLA(Network Level Authentication) is enabled on your server. If so, try disabling it temporarily and see if you can fix the problem.

I hope this helps. If you have any follow-up questions, please contact us.

    Best regards

    Jacen
