Hi, I want to monitor DuoAuthProxy service status on DUO Authentication Proxy Servers hence I'd like to create dynamic group to be used as monitor target - how to accomplish this?

Hi,
We have little knowledge of DUO products. Is it a service listening on a specific port? If yes, you can utilize SCOM to monitor the specific port.

I just want to monitor servers having that service if doable (monitor target - dynamic group containing servers with particular service present).
I'd like to create SCOM dynamic group containing all servers with DuoAuthProxy service in the production which would be monitor target. I could use query to check for DUO in the computer name but that is prone to errors since someone might not follow naming convention.

I do not see how you example above could work? I have SCOM 2019 UR6 and am attempting to create a dynamic group of Windows Computers that have one or more of certain services running. Using your example, I cannot get Windows Service to appear in the list without going through 3-4 other steps, which is not working for me at all. Am I missing something?

Hi,
I don't have DUO products installed, so just use one of the services as the example("dhcp"). Just copy the service name (of DUO products) to the textbox as shown in above screenshot.
Or if the DUO product is not a service? You can use "service process name" and fill in the executable filename, as shown in the task manager (or using tasklist or get-process to get the full list)

It runs as a service but whatever service I choose same outcome - empty group.
I am aware of this, but it seems DuoAuthProxy service has not been "discovered" so I always get empty group.
Even with MS services like DNS, WindowsAdminCenter ...
