Hi,

I suspect that my Azure Media Services instance was automatically deleted by Microsoft after exceeding the 90-day grace period. To verify this, I checked the Activity Logs and Logs under Monitor but found no indication of the service's removal. I would appreciate your assistance in determining the exact cause of the deletion.

    Hi @Sheik Mohamed Yasar ,

Since Azure Media Services (AMS) was retired on June 30, 2024, Microsoft may have automatically deleted AMS instances as part of the service deprecation. To confirm whether your instance was deleted for this reason, follow these steps:

Check Activity Logs in Azure Monitor:

Azure logs all deletions, and if the deletion was recent (within the past 90 days), you can find it in the

    Activity Logs:

    • Go to the Azure Portal -> Monitor -> Activity Log ->select your Subscription -> set Resource type to Microsoft.Media/mediaservices , Event Category to Administrative , Operation Name to Delete Media Services Account

    enter image description here

If you find a deletion event, check the "Initiated By" field,

    • If the deletion was triggered by Microsoft (system) and not by a user, it was likely due to the service deprecation.

    Hope this helps.
