Domain controller in Azure

I have domain controller. which has multple A records. A records has on prem and Azure DC IP.

when it queries to domain controller FQDN it always point to on prem DC IP instead of Azure DC IP.

How to make it point to Azure DC IP instead of on prem DC? Any solutions for this?

This issue could occur if there is a connectivity loss to the Azure Domain Controller and the FQDN fails to resolve.

Could you please provide the following details to assist with troubleshooting:

From where are you trying to query the FQDN? Is it the same domain controller or a different VM?

If you are using a VM, where are the source VM and Azure Domain Controllers located? Are they in the same VNet or different VNets?

If they are in different VNets, please ensure that VNet peering is configured between them.

Verify the custom DNS server settings applied to the VNet. Check if the on-premises DC IP is configured as the primary DNS server and the Azure DC as the secondary DNS server.

Perform a nslookup on the VM and verify that the primary (Azure DC) and secondary (on-premises DC) DNS servers are properly retained.

Check if the Azure DC has an NSG or firewall that might be blocking DNS query traffic.
