How to identify Inbound and OutboundTransfer to calculate the VNet Peering cost

I want to calculate the VNet peering cost. How do I understand the Inbound and OutBound Transfer?

From the history have found that 12,695 GB of data is processed and a cost of 888.65$ is incurred. How to gauge the spike in cost when data will increase?

Virtual network peering links virtual networks, enabling you to route traffic between them using private IP addresses.

Ingress and egress traffic is charged at both ends of the peered networks.

You can use Azure pricing calculator for calculating the vnet peering cost.

However, the pricing differs based on the zone the region is in.

How can I get to know the amount of data for which the cost is incurred.

Unfortunately, we at Microsoft do not monitor, record or store network traffic for any resources in azure due to customer privacy reasons. Hence, we could only provide you with the amount of egress and ingress traffic.I would like to inform few things:

We won’t be able to figure out where and how this data transfer has happened. We will not be to get where the data went or came from.

In order to check that we need to have live network trace collected during the issue time using which we can confirm where this data is transferred to.

It is unlikely that Microsoft will be able to determine the root cause of the increased usage and associated charges besides what is already visible in the detailed usage data available for the customer to download from their portal.

The reason for this is because Microsoft does not scan/monitor customers' Azure deployment, virtual machines, networks, data transfers, etc., due to security reasons and due to customer privacy reasons.

For Microsoft to proactively scan customer deployments would be a major security and privacy concern, so we don't do it with the customer's best interests in mind.
