When will the issue of audio crackling be resolved? i bought this pre built computer that has win 11 in june 2024 and i always have audio crackling when listening to music or using search engines. the crackling intensifies when i move my mouse on screen over clickable links and windows. it also crackles when i move mouse on the task bar where all my icons are. its the most annoying thing ever and should become a priority for the mother of all companies i.e Microsoft. if you cant fix it then please allow us to downgrade to win 10 for free unless that crappy issue is also now there but i remember my old Pc never had issues on win10... help us out instead of worrying about foreign affairs

    Hello Jason,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Here are a few steps you might consider trying:

    1.Update Drivers and Windows:

Make sure you’ve installed all the latest Windows updates. And visit your computer manufacturer’s website (or the site for your audio chipset) and update your audio drivers.

    2.Adjust Audio Settings:

Try adjusting the audio format (bit depth and sampling rate) in the properties of your playback device to see if a different setting reduces the crackling.

3.Check Power Settings and Background Applications:

Sometimes power-saving modes or background processes (such as those triggered by mouse movements) can affect system performance and cause audio issues. Try to Switch to a “High Performance” power plan to see if it helps.

    4.Test External Audio Device:

If possible, plug in a different set of speakers or headphones. This can help determine if the issue is with the computer’s built-in audio system or the external device.

Meanwhile, please read the part "Some devices that have Dirac Audio with cridspapo.dll might lose audio output" in the link below and check whether it is one known issue in your case on Win 11 24H2.

    Regarding downgrading to Windows 10

Microsoft typically doesn’t offer free downgrades once you’ve purchased a machine with Windows 11 pre-installed—especially if your device is certified for Windows 11.

However, some manufacturers do provide downgrade options on certain models. It’s worth checking with your PC’s support page or contacting the manufacturer directly to see if they have any guidance.

Please keep an eye on the official Windows community forums and Microsoft support pages for any announcements or patches addressing such issues.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
