Hello,

We have encountered a critical issue with our Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB account. On March 6, 2025, we accidentally deleted all document data from one of our collections. We need assistance in restoring the deleted data from the backup covering the period from March 6, 2025, to March 7, 2025

Could you please assist in initiating a point-in-time restore for the specified collection?

This data is critical to our operations, and we appreciate any guidance on how to proceed with the restoration process as soon as possible.

Thank you for your support!

    Hi chenna keshava vani,
Thank you for reaching out and posting the query,
I understand that on March 6, 2025, you accidentally deleted all document data from a collection in your Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB account. You need assistance in performing a point-in-time restore to recover the deleted data from March 6, 2025, to March 7, 2025. This data is critical for your operations, and you need help with the restoration process.

To restore your deleted data from Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB, you can use the point-in-time restore feature. Here are the steps to initiate the restore process:
    From Your Organization's Resources
Select the Cluster: Navigate to your Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB vCore cluster.
Access Point In Time Restore: On the cluster sidebar, under Settings, select "Point In Time Restore".
Specify Date and Time: Select a date and provide a time (in UTC time zone) in the date and time fields.
Enter Cluster Details: Enter a cluster name in the "Restore target cluster name" field and an admin user name for the restored cluster in the "Admin user name" field.
Navigate to Azure Portal: Go to the Azure portal and select your Azure Cosmos DB account.
Initiate Restore: You can perform the restore operation via the Azure portal, the Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, or Azure Resource Manager templates.
Select Restore Point: Choose the point in time within the retention period (30-day or 7-day, depending on your backup tier) to restore the data
