Has OneDrive been permanently downgraded so shared folders only show up as links

I have long been using MS Office products and most recently I am a subscriber of Office 365 Family for personal use and Sharepoint at the office. My question relates to the Office 365.

Recently you added AI options that cost more but add no value for me. I note that you soon intend downgrading Outlook so I can no longer use VBA. And now the OneDrive folders others have shared for me only show up as shortcuts in File Explorer, adding a further level of inconvenience.

When Google Drive started using shortcuts, it caused such a mess in our filing at the office, that prompted me to abandon Google Drive and replace it with OneDrive, however it seems that you have now applied a similar downgrade to OneDrive.

I would like to know if this change to shortcuts is a permanent downgrade, or will a fix be applied so it can provide a the level of convenience I originally signed up for when I purchased the subscription.

Hi,

This is an known issue in OneDrive and this is not fixed now, Micrsoft is aware of the issue and is working on resolving it. The .url internet shortcuts will automatically convert back to a folder when the issue is resolved.
