We are in a hybrid environment with our on-premise AD synced with Entra via AD Connect. Our email is strictly online as we have no on-prem exchange. I am unable to hide anyone from the global address book. I also dont have any of the exchange attributes for my on-prem users.

When I try to hide something from the address book, I just get a generic error, "Operation Failed". This goes for either user mailboxes or shared mailboxes.

Give this a try, although do make note of any information you remove in case you need to revert

Once done you will need to wait some time for the sync to happen. Also, keep in mind that the GAL doesnt update as quickly as most other ms services. could take a day or more

Hi @Anonymous you can try the steps in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/troubleshoot/administration/changes-to-msexchangehiddenfromaddresslist-not-updated-against-recipient?source=recommendationsIf you don't see exchange attributes, you need to extend AD schema by installing exchange management tools and manage attributes with powershell.
