Hello,

I had a problem regarding some pages in SharePoint Online.

Normally, when I set the page as home page, some options will be displayed (as below image)

User's image

However, some sites with home pages only show only "Page" option.

Could you explain the reason for this one or if it is the bug, please fix it.

Best regards

    Hi @Quan PHAM,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We are very pleased to support you.

Based on the information you have provided and the research I have done, only if the site page is not set as the home page.

Not set as home page, just opens the page:

    When set as home page:

Since we can't reproduce your situation, we need to narrow down the problem and try some things.

    1. Please check again that your sites that are having problems are correctly setting the page as the home page.
    2. Make sure you have Edit and above permission for these sites, otherwise you won't be able to create lists or file libraries and naturally these options won't appear.
    3. Is it possible that other users with sufficient permissions accessing the same site can also reproduce the issue? If it doesn't, it is probably a cache issue, so please try clearing your cache and checking again.
    4. Is the problem still occurring if the site in question has a new custom page set as the home page? It is very likely that the original site page is broken and causing the problem.
    5. Please create a new site and assign a new homepage to see if the problem persists. It is likely that the original site is corrupt and causing the problem.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Moreover, if the issue can be fixed successfully, please click "Accept Answer" so that we can better archive the case and the other community members who are suffering the same issue can benefit from it.

Your kind contribution is much appreciated.

    Hi @Quan PHAM,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Maybe I didn't explain my last answer clearly, please let's go back to your screenshot, I don't know if you noticed that the correct home page has Page Details next to the New button, while the incorrect home page has Promote next to the New button.

    User's image

In my tests, when a site page (has been published) is not set as the home page it displays Promote next to the New button.

    User's image

Once the page is set as the home page, Page Details is displayed next to the New button.

    User's image

So, you may have just published the page but had trouble setting up the home page:

    1. Please try to set another site page in the Pages library as the home page first and then set your target site page as the home page. This will probably solve the problem. User's image
    2. If the problem still exists, please try to create a new site for testing. We need to know if the problem is random.

In fact, when a site page is set as home page, the options in the New button are automatically generated based on the context, and there is no setting that affects any part of it (except that you can't create something because of the permissions, and thus some options are not visible).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
