Action required for your ExpressRoute Gateway deployment

We received a notice requiring deletion and recreation of our ExpressRoute Gateway connections. Are there any instructions on doing this? Is this our ExpressRoute circuits that need to be deleted and recreated.

ExpressRoute Circuit is the physical connection between your on-premises network and the Microsoft global network.

ExpressRoute Gateway is a virtual network gateway specifically designed for ExpressRoute. It is like a doorway which allows your virtual networks in Azure to connect to your ExpressRoute circuit. Microsoft occasionally performs maintenance or upgrades on their infrastructure that may require you to refresh your gateway connections. As we don't know about your ExpressRoute setup completely, below are the general steps for deleting and recreating the ExpressRoute Gateway connections, please take a look:

Determine which ExpressRoute Gateway connections need to be deleted and recreated based on the notice you received. You can usually do this through the Azure portal or Azure PowerShell. Make sure to disconnect any virtual networks associated with the gateway before deleting it. Create new ExpressRoute Gateway connections, ensuring they are configured correctly with the appropriate SKU, virtual network, and ExpressRoute circuit.

Re-establish the connections between your virtual networks and the newly created ExpressRoute Gateway.

Deleting and recreating gateway connections will likely cause some downtime for your ExpressRoute connectivity. Plan this activity during a maintenance window to minimize disruption.
