Hi @Ronald Cao
Is it a .docx file?
- Please save it in a different format, such as .doc file to have a check.
Have you enabled "Track Changes"?
- If so, you may backup it first, then accept all changes.
Consider using the 'Draft' or 'Web Layout' views instead of the 'Print Layout' view as they are less resource intensive.
Try changing the default font, go to the "Home" tab, click on the arrow at the bottom right corner of the "Styles" section, and select "Modify" to adjust the default font settings.
I also suggest you open this document in Word safe mode for a check.
- Please press and hold on Ctrl key, click or double-click this document, until Word asks if you want to start it in safe mode, then please release Ctrl key and click "Yes".
- If you can type in Word normally, please click
File > Options > Add-ins > Manage COM Add-ins
, click "Go", clear the check boxes for any enabled COM add-ins, select OK.
If this issue still persists in Word safe mode, does this issue occur with the other versions of Office, such as Microsoft 365 Apps?
Please perform a clean boot in Windows.
