Create a column in a document library that was generated by a teams channel.

Created a team and a channel in teams which in turn creates a document library. The Channel is named after our clients. When accessing the document library in SharePoint, I want to add a new column (field) to the client folder. I am allowed to create the column, name it and enter in data to the field, but get an error indicating, Folder changes can only be done in Teams. "To update this folder, go to the channel in microsoft Teams", But there is no where to add a new column to the document library in teams....

    According to your case description, when accessing a document library in SharePoint, you want to add a new column to a folder, but an error occurs: "To update this folder, go to the channel in Microsoft Teams."

    After my test, new columns can be added normally. Please make sure you have permission to edit the file library. If not, please contact your SharePoint administrator.

    My test steps:

    Add a SharePoint document library in Teams: Open Teams and select a channel. Click the "+" sign to the right of the channel name and select "SharePoint". Select the document library and add it as a tab.

    Manage a document library in Teams: Make sure to make changes in the document library tab in Teams. After opening the document library tab in Teams, you should be able to add new columns and make other changes. Or open it in SharePoint and modify the view there.

    I am able to create the column, it's when I put data into that column is when i get the error. I noticed there is no data in your field.

    When I type in the data into the field, and try to save, I get an error message,
