This is a continuation of the question raised by LA Griffin (Why is Copilot Pro not allowing files larger than 1 mb to be uploaded. - Microsoft Community). I have not seen any response to this since mid-November. I followed on that thread on December 13. As noted in the original post, I have been able to upload any file larger than 1 MB (tried multiple times) onto CoPilot.

I have a professional subscription through the University of Toronto. Before December 13, I was able to upload much larger files. Please help.

The video I attached shows what happens when I try and upload a file slightly below and slightly above 1 MB. I am attaching here another file that will not upload and is slightly above 1 MB. This is a problem noted by other users on the forums.

I understand how frustrating this limitation can be. Let's address your concerns one by one:

Reasons Behind the 1MB Upload Limit: The 1MB upload limit is primarily in place to manage server load and ensure optimal performance for all users. This restriction helps prevent potential issues related to large file processing and storage1.

    Workarounds or Solutions:

Compress Your Files: You can use file compression tools to reduce the size of your documents before uploading them.

Split Your Documents: If possible, divide your larger documents into smaller sections that are under the 1MB limit.

Use External Storage: Upload your larger files to a cloud storage service (like OneDrive or SharePoint) and share the link within Copilot2.

Upcoming Updates: There hasn't been any official announcement regarding changes to the upload limit for Copilot. However, it's always a good idea to keep an eye on the Microsoft 365 roadmap and community forums for any updates3.

I hope these suggestions help you manage your documents more effectively. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
