I have created a security certificate to go with software other people will download and use. The certificate will successfully install on the computer, however when its used and unspecified error occurs. (see below). The pfx file does not have a digital signature tab. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi @Debbie Fortner , if the PFX file doesn't have a digital signature tab, it may not have been signed properly. You might need to re-export the certificate with the digital signature option selected. Please let me know if this helps.

Hello, Can you provide a further path name to get me to where I can right click on the digital signature option? Is that in the key vault? In the certificate itself? In trusted signing? I don't find such an option in the places I've looked. Do I need a third part of this puzzle by using trusted signing from a third party vendor? I have the certificate and key vault from Azzure. I'm wondering if I need a trusted signature from Azure, or someone else, as well? Thank you.

Hi @Debbie Fortner to sign a file with a digital signature, you need to have a code signing certificate that is issued by a trusted certificate authority. Once you have the code signing certificate, you can use the SignTool.exe utility that is included with the Windows SDK to sign your files.
To access the digital signature option, you need to right-click on the file that you want to sign, select Properties, and then click on the Digital Signatures tab. From there, you can click on the Details button to view the details of the digital signature.
If you don't have a code signing certificate, you can obtain one from Azure Trusted Signing. Once you have the certificate, you can use it to sign your files with a digital signature.
